Episode Trivia:

It is the second time the song Carry on My Wayward Son by Kansas is used in the show. It was first used in "Salvation" (season 1 episode 21) over the opening sequence showing what previously happened during the first season. The song is used again in the opening sequence of this episode showing what previously happened during the first two seasons.

Dean said "We've got work to do" as he closed the trunk of the Impala. Sam said the same thing as he shut the Impala's trunk at the end of the pilot episode. Not to mention that, in the pilot episode, Sam was standing on the left and Dean was standing on the right (and Sam was the one who dropped the gun into the trunk and closed it); in the season finale of this season, the brothers were standing on opposite sides and Dean was the one who dropped the gun into the trunk and closed it.

The shop clerk thinks the boys are live action role playing when they visit. They track down the writer, Chuck Edlund, who explains he has visions of the brothers that he then turns into comic books. Chuck reveals that Lilith is coming and she has a plan for Sam.

When the brothers arrive in town the first night, there's a crescent moon in the sky. However, the second night when the werewolf strikes, the moon is full. The moon doesn't change phases that fast from crescent to full in a single night.

When Dean says this line after taking the ribbon out of his pocket to show Sam in the bar after his fight with Dracula: "This, I uh, pulled it off during the fight" his lips don't move, and the volume is different from the rest of his line, you can clearly tell this line was added in post as a voiceover.

Hi everyone. Sorry about Friday and not having a quote or a Screencap. Twitpic was acting a fool and well, sometimes real life is crazy. Also this is late at being posted because I sent the Guess the Ep and quote while at the zoo yesterday and didn't have a chance to do this last night.

Producers considered several methods of motivating Sam to take to the road with Dean. Turning Jessica evil was an option briefly, but in taking a page from Star Wars it was decided that her death would be the ultimate motivation for leaving home.
