Episode Trivia- The hotel that Dr Silvia Growman stays at is the Baskerville Motel, a reference to the Sherlock Holmes story, The Hound of the Baskervilles, which features a violent, ostensibly supernatural dog.

Episode Trivia- The use of the Trickster character, in particular the names Loki and Anansi, is a reference to the work of Neil Gaiman, the novelist and graphic novel author of which Eric Kripke has admitted being a fan. Quote of the Day- Dean: These punishments, they’re almost poetic. Well, actually they’d be more like a limerick, but still..
Episode Trivia- When Dean first enters the green room, the paintings on the wall are bright, parstoral scenes. Later when Dean confronts Zachariah, they are dark surreal scenes of Hell by Hieronymous Bosch
Quote of the Day- Dean: Tell me one thing. Where's God in all this? Zachariah: God? God has left the building.
Episode Trivia- On the back of the motel door it says The Thomas Kinkade Suite and the painting is reminiscent of a Thomas Kinkade painting. This is a shout-out to Jared's role as Kinkade in The Christmas Cottage.

Episode Trivia- Sam: Yeah, kinda like that theatre in Illinois.
Most likely referring to The Lincoln Square Theatre in Decatur, Illinois. The theatre tells a story about One-armed Red. He is said to be the ghost of stagehand who was killed tragically during a performance. It's also said that apparitions have been reported since the theatre was burned and partly rebuilt in March 1960.
Quote of the Day- Sam: So burning the body had no effect on that thing? Dean: Sure it did – now it’s really pissed.
